Wesley Paul Williams, a beloved figure in his community, was born on March17, 1978, and passed away unexpectedly on September 10 2024, at Piedmont McDuffie in Thomson.
He lived most of his life in Jefferson County and was a 1997 graduate of Jefferson County High School. Having always lived with his mother, he moved in 2018 with her to Glascock County.
Wesley was known for his immense heart and caring personality, described by many as a "big man with an even bigger heart" and a “giant, gentle teddy bear." He had a natural ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger, and often spent his time connecting with friends at local gatherings, particularly at the Jet and Huddle House, where fellowship and camaraderie were cherished.
Throughout his life, Wesley worked various jobs when his health permitted, including logging, farming, and cutting firewood. He was hands-on and resourceful, often enjoying the simple pleasures of tinkering and repairing lawn mowers and chainsaws, believing he could fix anything. In addition to his work ethic, Wesley had a passion for fishing and loved exploring the countryside on his ATV and golf cart, even going as far as driving from Gibson to Wrens just to socialize.
Wesley leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He is survived by his parents, Janice Whited Reese (Dennis) and Charles K. Williams Jr. (Lisa); his siblings, Ricky Williams (Tommy), Kevin Woods (Mia), Daniel Boyd (Tami), and Keith Williams (India); as well as nieces and nephews Christian Williams, Kaylee Woods, Raley Woods, Kye Woods, Makayla Boyd, Makenzie Boyd, Morgan Boyd, Chandler Williams, Dawson Williams, and Wyatt Williams; other extended family and a host of friends. He is predeceased by his son, Baby Boy Williams, and his sister, Crystal Williams.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and offer condolences during a visitation at James Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon, September 21, 2024.
Because of their sudden and unexpected loss of Wesley, the family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contribution be made directly to James Funeral Home by mailing checks to PO Box 588, Wrens, GA 30833 or by clicking on the link below.
