Twila Hadden Wheeler
Wrens, GA – Twila Ann Hadden Wheeler, 50, loving wife of Dennis James Wheeler, went home to be with her Lord Friday, May 31, 2013 from her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday afternoon, June 3, 2013 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stan Littleton officiating. Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
One of two daughters born to Peggy Jane Hood Hadden and William Lester Hadden, Twila was a lifelong resident of Wrens, graduating from Wrens High School and obtaining an Associate degree in Marketing from Athens Technical School. She worked in the family businesses—Hadden’s IGA and Peggy’s Restaurant—and was a member of Wrens United Methodist Church where she served her Lord. Since the age of 16, Twila had suffered multiple medical difficulties, including eight back and neck surgeries, COPD, etc; however, she never complained and no one would ever guess that the smile she always wore hid such great physical pain. She focused on the positive and kept her great sense of humor at all times. Twila had an adventuresome spirit and loved to travel, especially going on cruises and trips to the mountains. She was a “people” person, always willing to help others in any way she could and putting others needs before her own—a true servant. Twila loved her family with all her heart; even though death has left a void that no one can heal, her love has left us memories no one can steal.
Twila is preceded in death by her grandparents, R.C. and Doretha Hood and Josh and Janie Hadden. Other survivors include her sister, Melanie McDonald (Russel); three step-children, Suzanne Bradford, Joey Wheeler (Felicia) and Kevin Akrdige (Brandi); four grandchildren, Hunter and Landen Bradford, and Kerigan and Cole Akridge; many cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Kevin Akridge, Lester Ellis, Charles McGahee, Greg Rooks, Mike Snipes, Barrow Walden and Joey Wheeler.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home Sunday evening, June 2, 2013 from 5:00-8:00PM.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wrens UMC Building Fund, 202 Russell St, Wrens GA 30833.

Come With Me
The Lord saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, “Come with me”.
With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
A beautiful smile at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best.
It’s lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day.
Our lives aren’t the same
Since you went away.
When days are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper,
“Cheer up and carry on”.
Each time we see your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
“Don’t cry, I’m in God’s keeping,
We’ll meet again someday.”
