Tony Goodin Arrington
Matthews, GA – Tony Goodin Arrington, 50, loving husband to Trish Dill Arrington, entered into his eternal rest Wednesday evening, September 15, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 2021 with the Reverends Tony Key and Jody Boulineau officiating.
Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.
One of three children born to Sammie Goodin Arrington and the late Arthur Edward Arrington, Tony was a lifelong resident of Matthews and attended Thomas Jefferson Academy. After obtaining his CDL, he drove log trucks locally before going into law enforcement where he served as a Deputy Sheriff for Jefferson, Glascock and Richmond counties. He then went back into the logging business driving trucks. Tony loved his Lord and Savior serving him at Wrens Baptist Church and as a past member of Woodland Baptist Church and Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. He loved cooking for his family, singing karaoke and just hanging out with friends. An outdoorsman, Tony loved riding ATV’s, dirt bikes and just exploring the trails and woods. Having an out-going personality, he never met a stranger and loved meeting and talking with people. It has been said that once you met Tony, you never would forget him and that he always had a ready smile for everyone. Tony will be remembered for his friendly, happy-go-lucky and congenial attitude. He loved his family with an absolute, unfailing love—they were his top priority and he put their needs above his own. His stature was large so that it could hold his big heart. No one can fill the void left by Tony’s passing—his presence will be missed by many—but the assurance of his being in Glory gives us a peace that passes all understanding.
Others left to cherish his memories include his children, Billy Arrington, Tiffani Arrington, Tyler Dill, Gavin Arrington and Caleb Arrington; two grandchildren, Lillian Johnson and Jayce Johnson; brother, Art Arrington (Kelli); sister, Sheri Kniphfer; nieces, nephews, other extended family and a multitude of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service Tuesday evening, September 21st.
The family extends their thanks to everyone who has extended kindnesses in thought, deed and prayer.
