Tobiann Holdaway
Matthews, GA – After a long, hard-fought battle with cancer, Tobiann Holdaway, 46, entered into her eternal rest late Sunday night, October 18, 2015 at her residence. Celebration of Life services will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00PM Friday evening, October 23, 2015 with Rev. Tommy Anderson officiating.
One of three children born to Diane Nadine Fifield Holdaway and the late Earl Wayne Holdaway, Tobiann grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating high school, she became the mother of two daughters, then moved to Salisbury where she worked as a store attendant at a campground. In 2003, she moved her family to Georgia, loving the rural “country” lifestyle. She worked for eight years at the Jet Store # 64 in Stapleton, where she made many friends. Tobiann was a huge Bruins and Boston Red Sox fan—had to root for the “home” team! (She may have been in Georgia, but her heart remained in Boston.) She loved to go to the lake camping, having cook outs, being at the beach—and basically, being outdoors. She was known for her large collection of Tinkerbell memorabilia. Having an easy-going personality, she was a “people person” who made friends easily. Tobiann always put others’ needs before her own. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family, especially her granddaughter. Tobiann kept her positive outlook on life and cheerful disposition til the very end. Her generous, loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Tobiann was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gertrude Butcher Fifield and George Fifield. Other survivors include her children, Marilyn Nadine Holdaway and Mishelle Hope Holdaway; her fiancé, Charles Hughes; two siblings, Melissa Fikuart (J. R.) and Adam Holdaway (Sarah); and one granddaughter, Olivia Ann Lowe.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home after the services Friday evening, October 23, 2015.
