Steven Andrew Martin
Wrens, GA – Steven Andrew Martin, 34, extraordinary husband, loving son, brother, and caring friend entered into his eternal rest Monday morning, September 19th, 2022. Service to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00pm on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service.
A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Steve was a 2006 graduate of Thomas Jefferson Academy, he then moved on to Oconee Fall Line Technical School where he studied welding. Always a hard worker, Steve took great pride in his job as The TrackHoe Man, operating the excavator for Cleve (Lamb Logging.) He put his whole heart and soul onto every job he completed. He truly was one-of-a-kind. An avid lover of all things history, his favorite hobby was artifacts: of any kind. He enjoyed not only collecting, but also scavenging for artifacts, effigies, old things, arrowheads, sharks’ teeth, rocks and more. He constantly had his eye out for any arrowheads out on the job. He was highly intelligent and could go into such great depths about all of his findings and collected pieces. Steve also had a great passion for animals. Leaving behind Diesel, Negan, Duke, Pugs, D.D. Ball, Peggy, and the chickens all of who he loved so dearly. His favorite thing was to come home from work and give his wife a big hug, then greet all the animals.
To know Steve was to know a friend. What you gave Steve, he gave back three-fold. He believed greatly in everything that you put out into the world you receive back. He was prideful about him doing everyone right, no matter the situation. Steve was a happy, easy-going young man who could always see the positive and good side of life. He had an infectious laugh that you couldn’t help but join along. Every friend he made quickly became family. Steve will always be remembered for his generous spirt, his loyalty to his family and friends, his big goofy smile and his too-large for this world loving heart. He loved with everything in him and was tremendously loved in return.
Steven is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Reed Martin. Those left behind include his wife, Ashley Martin; father Walter “Bootsie” Martin Sr.; siblings, Walt Martin Jr., Cayce Ingalls, Phillip Stewart, and Emily Brinkmann (Bret Brinkmann); along with a multitude of friends, co-workers, and family.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Good, Edward Jones, Pete Rachels, Robert Jones, and Barrow Walden.
