Shirley Ann Johnson Tiner
Wrens, GA – Shirley Ann Johnson Tiner, 77, loving wife of the late Curtis Liston Tiner, entered into her eternal rest late Thursday night, July 30, 2015 at Pruitt Health Old Capitol in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at Wrens Baptist Church at 5:00PM Saturday, August 1, 2015 with Rev. Tim Hill and Rev. Sean Heggood officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
The younger of two daughters born to the late Lizzie Mae Phillips Johnson and the late Dan H. Johnson, Shirley was a lifelong resident of Wrens, where she graduated high school and faithfully served her Lord at Wrens Baptist Church. She was a former Western Auto dealer and owner of Tiner’s Restaurant. Her main focus, however, was raising her five children. Being a great cook, she enjoyed feeding her flock. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and romance novels, especially Danielle Steele novels. Her most favorite thing to do was to baby sit her grandkids, whom she adored. Never one to be satisfied with status quo, she loved to redecorate and move furniture around. One thing you could always count on was that her hair and makeup was done—even her kids never saw her without her makeup on, even at 3:00 o’clock in the morning—she took pride in her appearance. Being a loving, devoted mother, Shirley was very protective of her family. She was known for her strong-will and determination, which kept her going during her illness. Shirley has left many wonderful memories and a great legacy that will endure time. Her faith brought her through the night into her Heavenly home.
Shirley is also preceded in death by her grandson, Judd Seaman. Survivors include her five children, Cathy T. Gheesling (Jimmy), Ronny D. Tiner (Cathy), Jeffery L. Tiner (Kay), Mark C. Tiner (Heather Galloway) and Scott L. Tiner (Deana); sister, Faye McDonald (Kenneth); fourteen grandchildren, Emily Lamp, Brandy Gheesling (Brian), Trey Gheesling (Tiffany), Curtis Tiner (Sarah), Daniel Tiner, Matt Tiner (Hillary), Cole Tiner, Ashton Tiner, Abigail Tiner, Anderson Tiner, Cayden Tiner, Cale Tiner, Bryson Tiner and Madison Tiner; and seven great grandchildren, Luke Kelley, Kiyra Lamp, Natalie Lamp, Anna Kate Prescott, Miller Gray Bacon, James Gheesling IV and Olivia Katherine Tiner. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends at Wrens Baptist Church prior to the services from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, Augusta 1, 2015.

Legacy of Love
A wife, a mother, a grandma too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife, not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
