Wrens, GA  – Rufus Brantley Vaughn, 73, loving husband of the late Edna W. Vaughn, went to be with the Lord while at Doctors Hospital on Friday,  MAR 2, 2012.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, MAR 6, 2012 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church cemetery.
Brantley was born in Jefferson County to the late Adam and Virginia Russell Vaughn. After working in Macon for 28 years in the mobile home business, he moved back to Wrens where he was an active member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.  He enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, hunting and playing golf.  Brantley loved his Savior, family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Wade Brantley Vaughn; and a sister, Patricia V. Poole Rathburn. Survivors include his son, Michael Adam Vaughn (Lorraine) of Macon; his siblings, Jerry W. Vaughn and Betty V. Herndon (Tommy); three grandchildren, Sonny Adam Vaughn and Dustin Brantley Vaughn of Macon, and James Paul Copeland of Perry; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Pallbearers will be Michael Vaughn, Jerry Vaughn, Paul Wilson, Raymond White, Chad Piddy and Lloyd Braswell.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home on Monday, MAR 5, 2012, from 6:00-8:00P.M.
For her loving support and care, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Charlotte Smith, his life-long friend.
