Raydell James Kirchner
Matthews, GA – Raydell James Kirchner, 82, loving wife of the late Roy Kirchner, entered eternal rest Monday afternoon, July 13, 2015 at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00A.M. Friday, July 17, 2015 with Rev. Thad Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
One of five children born to the late Beatrice Arrington James and the late Silas James, Raydell was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She retired from Keller Industries in Waynesboro with over twenty years of service. Raydell was also a homemaker, making her children and husband her top priority. She loved being outdoors—whether it was working in her flower garden, vegetable garden, or fishing—travelling, especially to the mountains and the beach, and watching her daytime soaps. Having a strong will and being very determined, she also had a fun-loving nature , always taking the time to laugh and enjoy her loved ones. Above all else, Raydell loved her family and was most content in their presence. Her unselfish, abiding love will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Raydell is also preceded in death by her siblings, Velma Thompson, Pilcher James, and D. J. James; and her daughter-in-law, Twila Hadden Wheeler. Survivors include her children, Travis Wheeler, Dennis Wheeler (Karen Keenan), and Rachel Ellis (Lester); sister, Bobbi James Dixon; five grandchildren, Kevin Akridge (Brandy), Suzanne Snipes, Joey Wheeler, Colby Ellis and Jessica Ellis; five great grandchildren, Cole Bryant, Kerry Bryant, Jessie Akridge, Hunter Bradford and Landen Bradford; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. Pallbearers will be Kevin Akridge, Joey Wheeler, Colby Ellis, Tommy Cooper, Tracy Dixon, Jerry Walden, Hunter Bradford and Bill Perry.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday evening, July 16, 2015.
