Interment will follow in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church cemetery.
Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during this gathering.
Rande was born July 3rd, 1963 to the late Linda Lee Fish Parsons and to Russell Allen Parsons in Hurricane, West Virginia. After graduating high school from Hurricane High, she traveled with her family over the country for a few years as her father was a traveling union pipe fitter. Travels led her to Georgia where she became employed by Southern Nuclear. During this time, she met the love of her life, marrying on April 9th, 1988 and making their home together in Wrens. One night while attending a Play Drama at Wrens Baptist Church, she answered the tender calling of her Lord and Savior. She prayed the sinner’s prayer and accepted Jesus into her heart and was soon baptized into the Kingdom of God at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Rande worked for fifteen years at Southern Nuclear before retiring to be a stay-a- home mom to the only child of their union. She thoroughly enjoyed being a mother and wife, making sure their home was a comfortable, loving safe haven. Rande, through her love of animals, became involved in therapy pets. She loved to make regular visits to nursing home and assisted living homes with her boxer dogs to help lift the spirits of the residents. Rande enjoyed camping, fishing, riding ATVs and being outdoors. Most of all, she enjoyed talking to people as she never met a stranger. Her health began to deteriorate in 2012 with the things that she had always found easy being a challenge. However, instead of her focusing on her limitations, Rande chose instead to focus on what she was still able to do—love her family, which was still evident right up until Jesus called her home to Glory.
Others left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Stephanie Madison Williford; two brothers, Rusty Parsons (Kim) of Hurricane WV, Zachary Parsons (Jessie) of Ohio; a sister, Regina Miles (Robert) of Augusta; in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Blackmon, Mark Holley, Aaron McGowan, Ronald Russell, Seth Williford and Wade Williford.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening, April 29, 2021.
