Paul Richard Relander
Matthews, GA – Paul Richard Relander, 68, husband to the late Shelly Rhinehardt Relander and the late Cyndy Morrissey Relander, was found deceased at his residence on Monday, May 9, 2022. In accordance to his wishes, there will be no service.
Born in Grand Rapids MN to the late Nyla Zadel Thompson Relander and the late Melvin John Relander, Paul grew up in Jacobsen and was a 1972 graduate of McGregor High School. He then joined the Army during Viet Nam with his last tour being at Ft. Gordon where he met and married Cyndy in 1982. They moved to her family property in Keysville where he made home. An electrician, Paul worked on signal equipment at Ft. Gordon for Johnson Control for 20+ years. He was known as a tinkerer and for “fixin’ things”, especially small electronics, cars, etc., but his specialty was wiring. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and playing board games—he looked forward to Friday Game Nights. An avid reader, Paul loved to read westerns, murder mysteries, and action-adventure novels. He liked watching westerns and action television shows and movies. Paul became a homebody and like his solitude.
Paul is also preceded in death by his siblings, Beryl Pellersels and Bruce Relander. Survivors include two daughters, Carey L. Gore (Terry) and Bobbie A. Powell (Keith); sister, Barb McCauley (Mike); two grandchildren, Alex Powell (Michele) and Buck Donnell; nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
