Paul Barry Boulineau

Matthews, GA –          Paul Barry Boulineau, 87, loving husband of 65 years to Nell Arrington Boulineau, peacefully entered into his eternal rest early Saturday morning, October 16, 2021 at University Hospital in Augusta. Services to celebrate his life will be in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 with the Reverends Jody Boulineau and Jason Burton officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Wrens Church of God Cemetery in Matthews.

One of three sons of the late Lorene Boulineau and the late Alex Boulineau, Paul grew up in the Matthews-Keysville-Wrens area. After graduating from Wrens High School at the young age of 16, Paul moved to Augusta and started working for Colonial Bakery. Other than riding the bus to get to work, he walked wherever he needed to go.  Being a proud patriot, he joined the Navy at the age of 19, serving in San Diego CA. On home from leave, he married his best friend and love of his life at the age of 22 and took her to San Diego with him to finish out his tour of duty.  Upon his move back to Matthews in July, 1957, he went back to his career at Colonial Bakery where he worked as an accountant and retired when the company closed as Vice-President after 39 years of service.  Paul enjoyed fishing and loved watching sports—any sport—on TV, but his favorite sport was baseball and his favorite team was, of course, the Atlanta Braves. He did love to cut the grass on his mower, which gave him peace and solace.  A man of principle and integrity, he supported his community by serving two terms (8 years) as a Jefferson County Commissioner. He was known as being fair-minded, honest, congenial and a good, loyal friend.  Paul loved his Lord and Savior, serving Him faithfully as an active member of Wrens Church of God. A family man, he put his family and their needs above his own and loved them with an unwavering, unconditional love. Paul loved being a part of a large, loving family and was especially happy to be a grandfather and great grandfather—his grands and greats filled his heart with joy. The void left by his passing can never be filled but his memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Paul is also preceded in death by his brother, J.P. Boulineau. In addition to his wife, Nell, other survivors include his son, Keith Boulineau (Genie); brother, Bennett Boulineau (Libby); four grandchildren, Joshua Boulineau (Nicole), Evan Boulineau (Ashton), Baylee Boulineau and Karsyn Boulineau; three great grandchildren, Adylen Boulineau, Lily Boulineau and Joshua Lee Boulineau; many in-laws, extended family, church family and friends. Pallbearers will be Joshua Boulineau, Evan Boulineau, Hayden Arrington, Zach Woodard, Zeb Weeks and AJ Freeman.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, October 19, 2021.

The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Wrens Church of God Building Fund, 102 Phillips St, Wrens GA 30833.
