Patricia Lynne Bechtel O’Neill
Wrens, GA – Patricia Lynn Bechtel O’Neill, 75, entered into her eternal rest Monday morning, August 30, 2021 at her residence.
Born to the late Alice Louise Barker Bechtel and the late John Richard Bechtel in Waco TX, Patricia grew up in Ft. Worth. She married at the age of 20 and worked as secretary at Bechtel Chemical, the family business until it was sold in the early 1980’s. Because of her health decline, she moved in with her daughter in 2015. She moved with her family to Dearing GA in January 2017 and then to Wrens in October 2018. Patricia loved to watch movies with her favorites being Star Wars, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and Shrek. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and completing adult coloring books. Music, especially gospel music, soothed her soul. Patricia has been described as being very independent, strong willed, a spit-fire, and was considered one of the strongest and bravest people her family and friends knew. She loved her Lord and Savior and read the Bible daily—she loved Jesus, and through Him, she had a love for others. A very humble woman, she knew no enemies and never met a stranger. Patricia was very family oriented and loved her family unconditionally and whole-heartedly. She always left every conversation with family, friends and strangers alike with “I love you and God bless you.” She has now entered into her eternal home in Heaven where there is no more pain or tears. The void left by her passing cannot be filled, but her memories will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to have known her.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Darla Suzanne Marshall (John); two grandsons, Christopher Andrew Evridge and John Marshall Jr. (Tracy); three grandchildren, Azlyn Ann Evridge, Alexander Andrew Evridge and Aeva Marie Evridge; sister, Virginia Bechtel Brinkley; three nieces, Michelle Bartee, Robin Barron and Alicia Powell; great nieces; great nephews, extended family and friends.
The family thanks everyone who has extended kindnesses in thought, deed and prayer.
