Nancy Bell Taylor Johnson
Wrens, GA – Nancy Bell Taylor Johnson, 86, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, peacefully entered into her eternal rest early Thursday morning, July 14, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Wrens Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 18, 2022 officiated by Rev. Mason Davis, Kyle Amerson and Blake Stitcher. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Gardens.
One of nine children born to the late Rosa Lee and Robert Russell Taylor, Nancy was a life-long resident of Jefferson County. She retired from Glit as shipping manager after 10 years of service in 1994. Mostly, she was a homemaker with her main focus on her family, providing them with a loving safe-haven and making sure their needs were met, both physically and emotionally. On January 8, 1984, Nancy accepted God’s free gift of salvation through his son, Jesus, and joined the fellowship of Wrens Baptist Church. She faithfully served Him teaching the PreK and Kindergarten Sunday School classes and keeping the small baby nursery until her health decline. Before suffering from macular degeneration, Nancy enjoyed working Sudoku and word puzzles, but after losing most of her sight, she watched (listened) to cooking shows and the game show network. She was an avid Dawgs fan and Braves fan, watching the games on TV every chance she got. A great cook, her most treasured times were preparing meals for her families’ get-togethers, especially for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Family was everything to her—she loved her family unconditionally and made sure to keep in touch and know everything that was going on with each of her children and grandchildren. Nancy has been described as being feisty, determined and strong-willed while being a loving, caring mother and loyal friend. During all of her suffering, she never complained. Nancy now has a new body and will never suffer or be in pain again. Even though she will be missed greatly, we are thankful for God’s grace and mercy and for Jesus taking Nancy to her Heavenly home.
Nancy is also preceded in death by five siblings, Alvin Amerson, James Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Roy Taylor, Sheila Taylor and Jerry Taylor. Those left to cherish her memories include her three children, Marty Amerson (Karen), Ann DeLoach and Cliff Johnson (Lisa); eight grandchildren, Jeremy Newsome (Brooke), Kyle Amerson (Brittani), Bryce Amerson (Julie), Lauren Stitcher (Blake), Kristin DeLoach, Chip Johnson (Michelle), Will Johnson (Sammie Jo) and Alison Johnson; eleven (11) great grandchildren; two (2) great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Wade and Teresa Brooks (Greg); nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and friends. Her grandsons are honored to serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Wrens Memorial Gardens, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.
