Myiron Coven Smith
Wrens, GA – Myiron Coven Smith, 86, husband of the late Billie Jean Howard Callaway Smith and the late Shelby Jean Price Smith, peacefully entered into his eternal rest Thursday evening, January 6, 2022. Services to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Monday afternoon, January 10, 2022 with Rev. Blake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.
One of four children born to the late Ethel Price Smith and the late Johnnie Hampton Smith, Myiron grew up in Washington County. He worked at Fulghum Industries in Wadley, leaving there to work for Thiele Kaolin in Sandersville and Wrens until his retirement as Maintenance Supervisor. Myiron moved his family to Wrens in 1977. After visiting several churches, he joined the Wrens Church of the Nazarene, later moving his membership to Wrens United Methodist Church.
Myiron is also preceded in death by his three siblings, J. H. Smith, Elouise Price, and Donnie Smith. Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Marty Smith (Evonne), Darlene Holcomb (Tony), James Smith and Randy Smith (Marcia); eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, Jason Smith, Austin Holcomb, Coven Smith, Erik Joot and Edward Rabun.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Monday, January 10, 2022 prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wrens UMC Building Fund, 202 Russell Street, Wrens GA 30833.
