Mary Ellen Sebastian

Stapleton, GA  –         Mary Ellen Paster Sebastian, 86, entered into her eternal home Saturday evening, December 5, 2015 at Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Graveside services will be held at 3:00P.M., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Wrens Memorial Cemetery with Chrishelle Ebner officiating.

Mary was born to the late Pauline Pittman Timm and the late J. A. Paster in Green Bay, WI, living there until she was 12 when her mother moved them to San Diego, CA where she graduated high school.  Mary was very patriotic and loved America—she proudly served our country as a WAC from November, 1948 to April, 1952 having to take an honorable discharge when she married her husband, a soldier in the Army, in Japan.  The family lived in Kansas and Germany before being stationed at Ft. Gordon and settling in Augusta. A homemaker, Mary enjoyed knitting, sewing—especially baby clothes, and anything to do with crafts.  She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was devoted and faithful to reading and studying the Bible.  A devoted mother, she was most content in the presence of her family. Having lived a life filled with heartache and hard times, Mary is now reaping her rewards in Heaven, worshipping Him and singing praises.

Survivors include her children, George R. Sebastian (Loretta) of Phoenix AZ, V. Marie Sebastian of New Bern NC, O. David Sebastian (Dawn) and John D. Sebastian (Angela); ten grandchildren, Raylene Anne, Matthew Joseph, Travis James, Bonita Marie, John Eric, William Justin, Melissa Diane, Joseph Allen, Nolan Dixon and Sarah Adele; and two great grandchildren, Ella Joy and Caleb Jason Daniel.

The family will receive friends after the graveside services Monday afternoon.

Legacy of Love

A wfie, a mother, a grandma too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strenth, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another;
Not just as a wife, not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So, go in peace--you've earned your sleep.
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep.
