Lee Olon Hobbs, Jr.

November 7, 1971 — April 15, 2024

Wrens, GA

Lee Olon Hobbs, Jr., 51, known affectionately as "LeBo", unexpectedly entered into his eternity at Wellstar MCG (formerly Augusta University) on April 15, 2024.  A graveside service to honor his life will be held at 3:00PM on April 19, 2024, at Keysville United Methodist Church Cemetery where he will be interred next to his father.  Rev. Ed Chance will be officiating the service.

Throughout his life, LeBo was a dedicated heavy equipment operator and concrete pourer, finding joy in his work with construction companies and private citizens alike. His passion for his job was evident to all who knew him.

Born on November 7, 1971, LeBo embraced life with a fun-loving spirit and a generous heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, even strangers, showcasing his compassionate nature. He cherished spending time with his family, especially enjoying the company of babies and kids despite not having children of his own.

In his leisure time, LeBo found solace in fishing and the peaceful tranquility it brought. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting around a fire on Saturday nights with his niece, listening to Classic Country Jukebox music. These simple moments brought him great joy and relaxation.

Lee bravely fought through two strokes—one in December of 2022 and another in December of 2023, along with other health issues that followed. Despite these challenges, he remained determined to continue working and savoring life to the fullest.

Lee will be dearly missed by his surviving family members—sisters, Dale Watts (Peanut) and Dottie Newsome; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Royal, and father, Lee Olon Hobbs Sr.

Because of the tragic and sudden loss of Lebo, the family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home.  Checks can be dropped off at the funeral home located at 630 N Main Street in Wrens or mailed to PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833. Memorial contributions can also be made online by clicking on the following link:   https://www.jamesfhwrens.com/resources/make-a-payment

The ceremony will be a final opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects to a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and generosity. May Lee Olon Hobbs, Jr. rest in peace knowing that he will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
