Larry Willis Beasley, 71, loving husband of 42 years to Betty Frances Thigpen Beasley, entered into his eternity Monday morning, August 28, 2023 at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta. A private service officiated by Rev. Ed Chance will be held will be held at James Funeral Home.
Larry grew up in the Stapleton/Wrens area and was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He attended Wrens High School and was a 1971 graduate of Stapleton Academy. Always one to stay busy and being industrious, Larry started working part-time at the Wrens golf course at the age of 14. After graduating high school, he worked for a local lumber company, then the GA Dept of Transportation (DOT) before going to work for Delta Termite & Pest Control, retiring from there after 28 years of service. He then worked part-time at Ingles in Wrens, just to stay busy. Meeting the love of his life in 1979, they married in 1981. Being best friends, they did everything together and enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and visiting friends. Larry has been described as being feisty, energetic, strong-willed, good-natured and friendly. A people-person, he would talk to everyone he saw and enjoyed meeting new friends. Having a great sense of humor, he loved to make jokes and make people laugh. Larry had a positive, can-do attitude which he maintained even during his health issues over the last several years. He will be truly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Betsy Mae McNeely Beasley and Frank Willis Beasley; and a sister, Frankie Reese.
Heartfelt thanks and appreciation are extended to those special friends—you know who you are—for your faithful compassion and assistance given to Larry and Betty.
