Kimberly Marie Prickett Blackwell, 39, passed away peacefully at Wellstar Medical College of Georgia in Augusta on February 24, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her beloved family, who provided unwavering support and love during her journey.
Kimberly was a vibrant spirit who lit up the lives of everyone around her. A native of Jefferson County, she attended Jefferson County High School but made the heartfelt decision to become a stay-at-home mom. As her children grew older, Kimberly ventured into the workforce, where she contributed her talents to various local businesses. Ultimately, she found her niche as a solar panel installer at Blattner Energy, a role that required her to travel to Kansas, where she faced her diagnosis of cancer in October 2024.
Known for her warmth and kindness, Kimberly was a woman of strong faith, attending St. Joseph Catholic Church and embodying a spiritual presence that touched many. Described as "sassy," outgoing, and straightforward, she had a unique ability to connect with those around her. Her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her family, playing games, and creating lasting memories.
In addition to her love for family, Kimberly had a zest for life that extended to her hobbies and interests. She loved to travel, particularly relishing the beauty of the beach and mountains. An accomplished baker and cook, her culinary creations were a testament to her nurturing spirit. She found joy in capturing moments through photography, taking pictures of family, friends, and nature—anything that caught her eye.
Kimberly is also survived by her treasured children, Catalina Avila, Octavio Jimenez Jr., Gustavo Jimenez (Leticia), Kimberly Jimenez, and Khloe Jimenez; her parents, Carolyn Hall Prickett and Ronnie Prickett; and her beloved siblings, Nicole Prickett, Ronnie Prickett Jr., Ron Prickett, Kristy Prickett, and Kendra Hohlwein. She also leaves behind special aunts and caregivers, Janice Tanner and Michelle Hall, along with nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and numerous friends who will remember her vibrant spirit and loving heart.
A visitation in honor of Kimberly will take place on March 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at James Funeral Home. Her legacy, marked by her love for her family and her indomitable spirit, will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
