Kenneth Allen Holley

February 28, 1955 — July 5, 2023

Wrens, GA

Kenneth Allen Holley, 68, was found at his residence to have entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  Services to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Watkins officiating. Prior to the service on Saturday, the family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00PM at the funeral home.  A private interment will be held at a later date in the Wrens Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The eldest of three sons born to the late Clyde Radford Holley and the late William Cicero “W.C.” Holley, Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Wrens. After graduating from Wrens High School in 1973, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Augusta College, where he was on the dive team. He loved the water, spent many hours perfecting his high dives and would later hold swimming lessons teaching many youngsters how to swim and water safety.  Kenneth bought several rental properties, fixed them up and decided to open his own general contracting company, which provided a good living for he and his family.  He was very active until his health decline and enjoyed traveling, hiking and white-water rafting.  Being community-minded, he was a member of long standing as well as a past President of the Wrens Optimist Club.  Having a heart for young people, he served as a soccer coach. A long-time member of Wrens Baptist Church, Kenneth was a RA leader for many boys, including his son. In his later years, he had also attended Wrens United Methodist Church.  Kenneth was known for his great sense of humor—he wanted everyone to have fun and be happy. His family was his main focus, loving them unconditionally and being steadfast in his devotion to them.  The song “My Way” is the ultimate description of Kenneth—he did life his way. We are assured that he is in Heaven with a new healthy, pain-free body, that he has been reunited with his family in Heaven, that he is and will forever be worshipping our Creator and Savior.

Kenneth is also preceded in death by his brother, Keith Holley; nephew, Will Holley; and grandson, Nathaniel Johnson. Those left to cherish his memories include his son, Kenneth A. Holley Jr.; daughters, Stephanie Stewart and Kimberly McCarthy; brother, Mark Holley; nephews, Trent Holley (Ashley) and Travis Beckworth; sister-in-law, Susan Holley; grandchildren, Kayleigh Stewart, Noah McCloud, Aubrey Johnson, Ava Stewart, Kelsey Willingham, Cali Usry and Bryndle Smith; extended family, church family and friends.
