Kenneth Edward Anderson
Hephzibah, GA – Kenneth Edward Anderson, 71, entered into his eternal rest Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at University Hospital. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Monday afternoon, August 6, 2018 with Pastor Douglas Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
One of thirteen boys born to the late Delcie Mae Johnson Anderson and the late Winslow Henry Anderson, Kenny was a lifelong resident of Richmond County and earned a living as a painter until he had to retire because of his health issues. He loved his Lord and Savior and attended Broken Pentecostal Holiness Church until his health decline. Kenny did enjoy fishing, being outside and working in his yard. He was a known “tinkerer” and could fix anything with a motor—he was always working on a car, lawnmower, small engines, etc. for family and friends. Listening to music, especially country, and strumming his guitar gave him much pleasure and soothed his soul. A jokester, he liked to make people laugh and smile—he wanted everyone around him happy. Kenny had a generous, giving spirit and made himself available to help others in anyway he could. He was a loyal friend and dedicated family man who loved his family unconditionally.
Kenny is also preceded in death by his companion, Doris Bailey; grandson, William Dane; and eleven brothers, Paul, Bobby, Michael, Jerry, Larry, Johnny, James and four infant brothers. Survivors include his children, Loretta “Lynne” Shumate (Michael), Kenneth R. Anderson, Angela Bailey and Patricia Haynes (James); brother, Rudolph Anderson (Jane); eleven grandchildren, Joshua Spangler, Kenneth R. Anderson Jr., Ashlyn Key, Tyler Key, Alyssa Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Brandon Davis, Hayley Davis, Brittany Davis, Dalton Haynes and Chris Haynes (Lacrisha); nine great grandchildren; a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Anderson, Michael Anderson, Paul Anderson, Brandon Davis, Ashley Dixon and James Haynes.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening, August 5, 2018.
