After a short, hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer, Katrina Anne Carr Miller, 69, peacefully transitioned into her eternity Thursday morning, May 9, 2024 at her residence in Wrens. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM Monday, May 20, 2024 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Hoover officiating.
Born on July 19, 1954, to the late Betty Elizabeth Tipton Carr and the late James Horace Carr, Katrina spent most of her life in Dublin.
Katrina's life took a turn when she married her beloved husband. The couple shared many precious moments until his passing in 1983, which left Katrina with a profound loss. Despite the challenges she faced, Katrina showed great resilience and determination. She ventured into various jobs, including positions at Red Lobster and the Mohawk Carpet Mill. In 2008, she relocated to Virginia and worked in home health care before moving to Wrens in 2014 to be closer to her dear sisters.
Described as incredibly kind-hearted and generous, Katrina never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her sociable nature meant that she never met a stranger and was known for her unwavering strength of character and fierce independence.
Katrina leaves behind cherished memories for her surviving son, Grady Eugene Miller (Linda); two grandchildren, Kristina Gutt and Grant Miller; three siblings, Gail Lawrence, Jimmy Carr (Jan), and Deloris "PeeWee" Carr; long-time companion, Walter Farmer; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Miller; sister, Katherine Johnson; and grandparents, Lucy and Velma Tipton.
May her kindness and spirit live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
