Hephzibah, GA  – Kathryn “Katie” Denise Black Woods, 46, a true believer of angels and devoted mother, became an angel at her home on May 13, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, May 19, 2014 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Wrens Memorial Cemetery.

Katie was an avid animal lover and worked with Dr. Gradous at Springwood Veterinarian Clinic for many years. Her enormous personality, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family.

Katie was preceded in death by her father, Bert Black, and her brother, Greg Black. Survivors include her children, Heather Woods-Burch and Nicholas Woods; her parents, Carolyn and Joe May; three siblings, Missy May-Kase, Jamie Black and Melissa Bryant; granddaughter, Zaylee Woods; and lifelong friend, Michelle Lynch.  Serving as pallbearers will be Mitch Black, Brandon Rogers, Tyler Russell, Dusty Woods, Jerry Woods and Larry Woods.
