John Cardell McNeal,55, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, June 17, 2024, at his residence in Warren County. John was born on December 21, 1968, and spent his life spreading joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Growing up in the Matthews area, John chose to start working at Barrow and Prescott after the 9th grade instead of continuing his formal education. His strong work ethic led him to a fulfilling career as a long-haul truck driver for 34 years. John's passion for driving took him through all 48 states, allowing him to experience the beauty of the country he loved dearly. He often spoke fondly of the people he met on his journeys.
In addition to his successful career, John had a playful and eccentric personality. He was known for his fun-loving and jovial nature, always ready with a joke or a prank. Despite his feisty and rowdy demeanor, John had a heart of gold and cherished spending time with his family. He had a special place in his heart for children and adored being with his kids.
Outside of work, John indulged in hobbies such as fishing and hunting. A devoted fan of NASCAR, he passionately supported Dale Earnhardt and cheered for the Georgia Bulldawgs with unmatched enthusiasm.
John leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Brenda Marie Amerson; children: John C. McNeal Jr., Charles McNeal, Eric McNeal, and Nadya McNeal; parents Lula Bell Prickett McNeal and Joe Elvin McNeal Sr.; siblings Joe McNeal Jr., Victoria Hernandez, and Gracie Murray (Larry); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate John's life will be held Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2024 in the James Funeral Home Chapel in Wrens. The service will commence at 3:00 PM to reminisce about the cherished memories shared with an extraordinary individual who touched the hearts of many.
May John Cardell McNeal rest in eternal peace as his spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched during his time on Earth.
