Mitchell, GA  –           Joanne Shelton Palmer, 69, entered into her eternal rest Saturday afternoon, September 26, 2020.  According to Joanne’s wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate her life at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday morning, September 30, 2020 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Weatherford officiating.

A lifetime resident of Glascock County, she proudly served the Glascock County School System for many years and made many friends. Joanne’s favorite things were country music, Alan Jackson to be specific, and to joke around and keep everyone on their toes. She was a talker and spent many hours chatting about old times. Her favorites to chat with for hours would be her mother and dear friends, Terry Arrington and Sally Garrett.

Joanne is preceded in death by her two infant children, Dana Palmer and Brandon Palmer; father, Daniel Shelton; and brother, Donald “Dunk” Shelton. Survivors include her three daughters, Brandi Palmer, Ashley Arrington (Jason) and Raven Wolflynx (Pablo); mother, Sara Shelton; sister, Dianne Davis; three granddaughters, Jasmin Treadway, Carleigh Palmer and Adyson Palmer; other extended family and many friends.

All that knew Joanne knew how much her fur babies meant to her.  They will all miss her dearly. Her fur babies include Dolly, Toby and Cleo; fur grandbabies include Tuff, Herschel, Jake, Walker and Lucy (Ashley), Zeus, Dante, Snuggles, Bjorn and Nutter (Raven), Piper, Teala, Blu, Olivia, and Juno (Brandi), and Tricycle (Chad—her “adopted son-in-law”).
