Stapleton, GA  – Jennie Ruth Milburn, 76, entered into rest Friday morning, February 7, 2014, at Gibson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Waldens United Methodist Church with the Reverends Tommy Anderson and Marvin Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

One of four children born to the late Geneva Elizabeth Crum Milburn and the late Walter Earnest Milburn, Jennie was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and a member of Waldens United Methodist Church.  She retired with over 30 years of service as the Bakery/Deli Manager for Piggly Wiggly. After retirement, she would take care of the home-bound elderly. Jennie loved to cook and was known for her lemon meringue. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden, going to the beach and just riding around. Jennie loved her family without reserve, especially her “sweet” grands and great-grands. Her loving, gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to mourn her passing are her children, Ponda Pittman (Keith), Bonnie Wood (Tommy) and Scott Reid (Michelle); three brothers, Durham Milburn (June), Maron Milburn (Sara) and Hiram Milburn (Ann); eight grandchildren, Michelle McNeely (Shaymus), Ryan Pittman (Stephanie), Dana Milhous (Rob), Denise Butler (Perry), Trey Wood, Coty Wood, Magon Reid and Storm Reid; nine great grandchildren, Savannah McNeely, Cameron McNeely, Abby McNeely, Rhett Pittman, Jackson Pittman, Luke Milhous, Madison Millhous, Chandler Butler and Tyler Butler; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Perry Butler, Shaymus McNeely, Jason Milburn, Vince Milburn, Storm Reid, Coty Wood and Trey Wood.

The family wishes to acknowledge and express their heartfelt thanks for their loving, professional care to Gibson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Trinity Hospice, especially Susan Holley.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00PM on Sunday evening, February 9, 2014.
