Jack Nathaniel Williams
Wrens, GA – Jack Nathaniel Williams, 67, loving husband of 34 years to Gwinda “Joyce Owens Williams, peacefully entered into his eternal rest early Saturday morning, April 2, 2022, at his residence. Services to celebration his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 9, 2022 with Rev. Raymond Fortner officiating. Family and friends are welcomed to remain after the service to visit with the family.
A native of Kite, Jack was one of ten born to the late Abria Stapleton Williams and the late Linton Katie Williams. Because of his father’s job, the family moved frequently, settling in Gibson when Jack was 14. After graduating from Glascock County High School in 1975, he worked at various jobs to help support the family. His work consisted of running a filling station, auto repair and maintenance but his main occupation was in construction until 2007 when he became disabled. He loved to travel, especially to Lumpkin to visit Providence Canyon and the marina. Jack enjoyed being outdoors so when his was not fishing, he could be found riding his lawnmower and cutting the grass. He was mostly a “homebody” who enjoyed watching Westerns. Considered a jokester, Jack had a great sense of humor and tried to cheer up people, especially if they were having a bad day—he wanted everyone happy and tried to be a peacemaker. Most of all, Jack loved of his family and was most content spending time with his grandkids and family.
Jack is also preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Williams and Mary Williams. Others left to cherish his memories include his son Jeffery Arlon Herndon (Laurie); three grandchildren, Jeffery Herndon Jr., Angelina Herndon, and Kevin Herndon; seven siblings, Louise Price (Robert), Alton “Bubba” Williams, Eugene Williams (Jessie), Laverne Bridges (Larry), Carolyn Usry, Alicia Usry (David) and Debbie Adams; nieces, nephews, in-laws, other extended family and many friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of MSA Hospice for their compassionate, professional care.
