Joy Jones
Matthews, GA. – Helen Joyce “Joy” Jones, 33, loving daughter of Dianne Peebles Jones and Jeff Jones Jr., entered into Glory Friday evening, June 1, 2012 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Moriah UMC on Monday morning, June 4, 2012 at 11:00AM with Dr. Francis Ford and Rev. Ed Chance officiating. Joy will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Ways Baptist Church Cemetery.
Joy was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was an active, lifelong member of Mt. Moriah UMC where she taught Children Sunday School. She enjoyed cross-stitching and needlepoint which she turned into a ministry by giving newborns cross-stitched bibs. Even though she endured many health hardships, she always had a big smile and hugs for everyone—she truly made lemonade out of her lemons. Her name epitomized her life—she brought joy to all who knew her—and was the essence of kindness and grace. Joy loved her family, friends and church. She will be missed but will forever live on in our hearts.
Joy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert J. Jones Sr, Bessie Neal Fleming Jones and George H. Peebles. Other survivors include her brother Robert Jones (Erin) and maternal grandmother, Helen Reid Peebles. Serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Arrington, Dalton Dowdy, Jeremy Gay, Josh Johnson, Samuel McGahee, Josh Otis, Michael Prescott and Tripp Rooks.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home this evening, Sunday June 3, 2012 from 6:00-8:00PM.
Memorial contributions are requested to be made to Mt. Moriah UMC, Treasurer, 8219 Hwy 88 E, Keysville GA 30816.

Young Life Cut Short
Do not judge a song by its duration
Nor by the number of its notes—
Judge it by the richness of its contents.
Sometimes those unfinished are among the most poignant…
Do not judge a song by its duration
Nor by the number of its notes—
Judge it by the way it touches and lifts the soul.
Sometimes those unfinished are among the most beautiful…
And when something has enriched your life
And when its melody lingers on in your heart,
Is it unfinished? Or is it forever endless?
