Ernest Rozier
Wrens, GA – Ernest Rozier, 84, loving husband of 60 years to the late Helen Louise Davis Rozier, entered into his eternal rest early Saturday morning, October 26, 2019 at University Heart and Vascular Center in Augusta. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the Wrens Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, October 30, 2019 with the Reverends John Jenkins and Carson Fellows officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Gardens Church Cemetery.
In October 1966, Ernest relocated his family from his hometown of Cochran to Wrens. He was a devoted employee of JM Huber Corporation at the Huber GA Plant when he was promoted to Assistant Plant Superintendent and relocated to aide in the opening of their newest plant in Wrens. Ernest retired from JM Huber Corporation in July, 1990 with 35 years of service. In addition to his role at JM Huber, Ernest was a faithful member of Wrens Baptist Church, where he served as an active deacon for several years and was later elected Deacon Emeritus. Ernest most enjoyed his time with his family, camping, and square dancing with his wife, Helen, who God called home to Heaven on May 3, 2014. At a little past midnight on October 26, 2019, Ernest was reunited with his beloved Helen in Heaven. His favorite Bible verse was John 3:16—“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Those left to cherish his memories include his son, Tommy E. Rozier; daughter, Debra Rozier Jenkins (John); four grandchildren, Nick Rozier (Laura), Valerie Douglas (Cliff), Shelley Jenkins and Jonathan Jenkins; three great grandchildren, Hailey Rozier, Anslee Douglas and Jameson Cole Douglas; cousins; church family and friends. Pallbearers will be Nick Rozier, Cliff Douglas, Jonathan Jenkins, Tootsie Johnson, Earl Sapp and Harold Johnson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Willis Clark Sunday School Class and the Wrens Baptist Church Deacons and their wives.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, October 29, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Wrens Memorial Gardens, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.
