Dorothy Jean Courson
Keysville, GA – Dorothy Jean "Snookie" Courson, 79, loving daughter of the late Dollie Tooke Courson and the late Eugene G. Courson, entered into rest Sunday night, November 11, 2012, at Keysville Nursing & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Keysville Nursing & Rehab Center. Interment will follow in the Ways Baptist Church Cemetery.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, living in Wrens and Zebina. She attended Ways Baptist Church. Despite the several physical disabilities that plagued her, she attended the local public schools and received a graduation certificate in 1956 from Wrens High School. She was under the care of her parents but was placed in a nursing home aftr they could no longer take care of her. Since 1991, Dorothy was a resident at the Keysville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Beal Gay Courson and John Jackson Courson. Her survivors include her cousin and guardian, Dr. Max Courson (Naomi) of Valrico FL and her cousin, Ellen Courson Potsiadlo of Las Vegas NV.
As her guardian for many years, Dr. Max Courson expresses his appreciation for the care his cousin received over the years from area residents and the staff of Keysville Nursing & Rehab Center.
