Dennis “Keith” Boose

Thomson, GA –          Dennis “Keith” Boose, 72, transitioned to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.  Services with military honors to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2021 with Rev. Ed Chance officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service at the home of his daughter, Hali Boose, at 152 S Planer Street, Wrens GA.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.

Born of October 4, 1948 in Winston-Salem NC, Keith was one of five children of the late Helen Ayers Boose Green and the late Elmer Boose, he distinguished himself as a loving, caring, generous and outspoken young man. Shortly after graduating from South Stokes High School in Walnut Grove, NC, he proudly served in the United States Army. Shortly after joining on June 3, 1968, he was deployed to Vietnam. After a year of service overseas, he returned to the states to receive numerous decorations and medals, such as the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and many more. Upon completing his service to his country, Keith decided to further his education in the area of respiratory therapy. He later received a degree as a respiratory therapist and was offered a job in Jefferson County. After working a few years at Jefferson Hospital, he met his ex-wife, Vickie Marsh Boose, with whom he had two children. After twenty plus years of working in the medical field, he retired and became a stay-at-home dad. Keith enjoyed taking vacations with his daughters, playing golf with friends, watching baseball, especially the World Series, and never missing a Sunday of Nascar racing. He also spent many hours working in his garden trying to make sure his tomatoes were perfect.  Keith embodied the characteristics of the scriptures in 1 Corinthians 16:14: “Let all you do be done with love.”—everything he did was with love.  He was an empowering man of strong character, great sense of humor, years of wisdom, and boundless compassion. He lived a long, strong, and devoted life before entering Glory.

Keith leaves to cherish his loving memory two daughters, Hali Boose of Wrens and Courtney Boose of Thomson; two grandchildren, Paytlynn Walls and Jaden Miller; one sister, Robin Green Delaney (Mark) of Sweet Water TN; three brothers, Graig Boose (Rita) of Piedmont AL, Doug Boose of Pfaff Town NC, and Ronnie Boose (Diane) of Winston-Salem NC; extended family and friends.
