Denice Marie Arrington Pennington

Matthews, GA  –        Denice Marie Arrington Pennington, 64, loving wife of 42 years to Samuel “Sammy” Raley Pennington, entered into her eternal rest Sunday morning, October 16, 2016 at her residence.  Edward C. James will officiate services to be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday afternoon, October 22, 2016 at the home of Lloyd and Melody Arrington in Zebina.

One of four children born to the late Verna Mae Arrington and the late Herman “Jack” Jackson Arrington, Denice was a native of Jefferson County and a 1969 graduate of Louisville High School. She was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs, often taking in strays, nursing them to health, and trying to find them a good home. And if she couldn’t find them a home, they would end up becoming part of her “family”. Accepting and loving Jesus as her Lord and Savior, Denice had a true servant’s heart and a genuine love for people, especially the elderly. She worked in the Keysville Nursing Home and then provided in-home care for many years.  She could be counted on to do whatever she could to help others in need.  Being a simple woman with simple needs, her family was her first and most important priority—she loved them unconditionally.  In the last couple of years, her pride and joy was her “Princess”.  Although not rich by worldly standards, Denice was indeed rich in spirit and is now in Heaven reaping her just rewards.

Other survivors include her daughter, Lisa Pennington (Jonathan Jones); four grandchildren, Jerileigh Kimes, Shawn Bouchard, Ariel Rose “Princess” Jones and Baby Jones; three siblings, Brenda Uhl, Jack Arrington Jr., and Lloyd Arrington (Melody); several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

The family will receive friends after the services Saturday, October 22, 2016.

If You Could See Me Now

If you could see me now, you wouldn't shed a tear.
Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there.
Remember my spiriit--that is the real me;
Because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free!
Oh! If you could only see!
I've beheld our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand.
All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land.
Beyond the gates of pearl, I've walked on the golden streets.
I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the Crystal sea.
The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare.
I've even seen your mansion and someday I'll meet you there.
Let Jesus by your guide because His Word will show you the way!
So, please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
