Debra Agnes Boulineau Norton

Wrens, GA  – Debra Agnes Boulineau Norton, 58, loving wife of 39 years to J. Steve Norton, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday night, December 31, 2013 from GA Regents Medical Center in Augusta.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM  Saturday afternoon, January 4, 2014 at Wrens Baptist Church with the Reverends Tony L. Key and Jerry Pitman officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.

The only child born to Agnes Lorraine Lewis Boulineau and the late Billy Laurence Boulineau, Debra was a lifelong resident of Wrens. She was a 1973 graduate of Wrens High School, attended Augusta College and worked as a paraprofessional at Jefferson County School System—she loved working with “her kids”.  An active member of Woodland Baptist Church, she served as the church pianist and choir director, and taught the Ladies New Life Sunday School class.  Debra also volunteered for many years at the Care Pregnancy Center in Augusta.  She enjoyed reading, listening to music—the louder the better—going to movies, traveling—especially to the beach, eating out and spending time with family and friends.  Having a “servant’s” heart, Debra loved helping people in any way she could and always exemplified a Christ-like attitude. She always kept a positive outlook and had a smile on her face, and in all things glorified God; her faith sustaining her especially in the last year during her struggles with cancer.  Her favorite song was “Victory In Jesus”—she is now truly victorious and experiencing all of His glory.

Other survivors include her two children, Annie Norton Kiene (Daniel) of Savannah and Johnnie Rutherford Norton of Warner Robins; three grandchildren, James Kiene, Andrew Kiene and Elizabeth Kiene; several nieces and nephews; many friends.  Pallbearers will be Patrick Boulineau, William Irwin, Lee Lewis, Edward Newsome, Danny Norton and Wayne Scott.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Jefferson County Board of Education, Superintendents and Principals.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home Friday evening, January 3, 2014 from 6:00-8:00PM.

The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to be made to American Cancer Society, c/o Woodland Baptist Church, 22259 Hwy 1 N, Matthews  GA  30818.

Victory In Jesus

I heard an old, old story how a Saviour came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary to save someone like me.

I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood’s atoning
Then I repented of my sin and won the victory.

Oh! Victory in Jesus, my Saviour forever.
He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood.

He loved me ‘ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing blood.

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing
How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see.

And then I cried “Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit”
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

Oh! Victory in Jesus
My Saviour Forever!
