Daniel Reed Martin
Wrens, GA – Daniel Reed Martin, 29, loving son, brother, friend and fiancé, entered into his eternal rest Sunday afternoon, January 6th, 2019. Services to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 P.M on Thursday evening, January 10, 2019 with Rev. Joe Walden and Karen Walden officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Daniel was a 2009 graduate of Thomas Jefferson Academy, he then moved on to Oconee Fall Line Technical School where he studied welding. Being highly intelligent and mechanically inclined, he loved to work on anything with an engine. At just eight years old he, along with the help of his brother Steve, began working on and even driving 5-ton military dump trucks. Back then it took the two of them: one to work the pedals while the other steered them down the road. Daniel had a great passion for VW’s, ATV’s, and his 4-wheeler shed: where if you needed him, you could always find him. Always a hard worker, Daniel took great pride in his job as a logger. He went out of his way to make sure the job was accomplished and to the best of his ability.
He was always happy to come home to his fur babies, Ella and Moose, whom he loved so dearly. Everyone who could see the joy and life those dogs brought to him, couldn’t help but smile. Daniel was a happy, easy-going young man who could always see the positive and good side of life. He had an infectious laugh that you couldn’t help but join along to. He made friends easily and those friends became his family. Daniel will always be remembered for his generous spirit, his loyalty to his family and friends, his big smile and warm heart. He loved greatly and was loved greatly in return.
Those left behind include his fiancé, Katlin McAllister; father Walter “Bootsie” P. Martin Sr.; siblings, Steve Martin (Ashley Sease), Walt Martin, Jr., Cayce Ingalls, Phillip Stewart, and Emily Stewart; along with a multitude of friends, co-workers, and family.
Pallbearers will be Sam Christian, Keith Davore, Edward Jones, Colby Lamb, Robert Parker, Vanis Perkins, Pete Rachels and Barrow Walden.
