Daniel Ernest Arrington

Matthews, GA  –         On the morning of November 11, 2020, Daniel Ernest Arrington Sr., 76, entered into his final home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The family will be holding a private graveside service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to join them in a celebration of his life at the home of his daughter, Michelle Prather, at 4:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, November 15, 2020.

Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing, as mandated, and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is encouraged.

Dan was born to the late Lillie Mae Taylor Arrington and the late Daniel Monroe Arrington in Matthews. He worked over 30 years in construction. Dan and his wife, Vicky, served their community by ministering to their local nursing homes. He loved riding bikes, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed everything outdoors and was an avid karaoke singer.  Dan was a loving husband, devoted father, and high-spirited grandfather. He was a hardworking man with a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and he never met a stranger.  If you knew Dan, you know he could build almost anything with his hands and whenever he heard the sound of Elvis’ voice, he would begin to sing. His family was his world, and he was theirs.  Dan spent his last days surrounded by his family and doing the things that he loved—singing and sharing stories of his life.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and family.

Dan is also preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Tudor Arrington; his son, Matthew Arrington; and nine siblings, Mary Ellen Templeton McDonald, Sara Wasden, John Arrington, Berry Arrington, James Arrington, Mildred Ashby, Rouse Arrington, Katherine Arrington and Baby Boy Arrington.  Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Michelle Arrington Prather (Mike), Danielle Arrington Manning (Tommy), and Daniel Arrington Jr. (Melissa); nine grandchildren, Joshua Prather (Payton), Caleb Prather, Haley Prather Hadwin (Ernie), Ansley Prather, Madyson Manning,  Marlie Manning, Mason Manning, Karson Key and Matthew Arrington; four great grandchildren, Davon, Hadwin, Eason Hadwin, Beau Hadwin and Loulie Prather; two siblings, Bud Arrington (Gail) and Helen A. Odum; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
