Charmion Nannette Herndon, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, November 22, 2023 at Wellstar MCG Health (formerly Augusta University Medical Center). Services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, December 6, 2023, with the Rev. Tracy Brown officiating. There will be a private interment at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. The family will greet friends after the service Wednesday afternoon, December 6th, from 3:00-4:00P.M.
A lifelong resident of the Wrens area, Charmion was a 1992 graduate of Wrens High School. Being a determined and strong-willed woman, she held various jobs locally before finding her true passion. She obtained her CDL and fearlessly drove big rigs on both long and short hauls. Unfortunately, due to health issues, she had to retire from her trucking career. Charmion's health declined after giving birth to two sets of twin boys. The first set arrived in 1998, followed by the second set in 2002. Battling diabetes and other maladies took a toll on her health, ultimately leading to the amputation of one of her legs.
During Charmion's rehabilitation process, she discovered a newfound passion for making bracelets. Pouring herself into this craft not only helped her regain self-worth but also brought in some income to assist with her expenses. This creative outlet became an essential part of her life.
Charmion will be remembered for her kind and considerate nature. She possessed a deep sense of empathy and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Charmion was devoted to caring for her mother and also assisted her father in providing for her needs. She could effortlessly bring joy to those around her with her infectious laughter and genuine wit.
In August 2022, Charmion began a significant chapter in her life when she started living with her son, Malik. Their companionship and support became a source of strength for both of them.
Family meant everything to Charmion. She lived for her four sons: Kevin Brinson, Keith Brinson, Malcolm Brinson, and Malik Brinson. Their happiness and well-being were at the center of all she did. Charmion's grandsons, Zaiyah Brinson and Kayden Brinson brought immense joy to her life as well. She is also survived by her father, Tommy George Herndon; brother, Dwayne Herndon; the father of her sons, Eddie Brinson; and other extended family. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Keith Brinson Jr.; and her beloved mother, Betty Jane Vaughn Herndon.
The legacy that Charmion leaves behind is one of resilience, love, and determination. Despite facing numerous challenges and heartache, she managed to find happiness amidst the difficulties. The impact she made on her family and friends can never be overstated. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Because of their unexpected loss, the family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833 or by clicking on the link below.
