Betty Sue Hadden Sanders
Hephzibah, GA – Betty Sue Hadden Sanders, 76, peacefully entered into her eternal rest Sunday night, September 5, 2021 at Lake Crossing Health Center in Appling. Services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, September 11, 2021.
Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.
The second of seven children born to the late Lois Juanita Myers Hadden and the late J.B. Hadden, Betty lived in Sparks GA for the first few years of her life until the family moved to North Augusta SC. They then moved to Hephzibah in 1961 where she graduated high school. Betty continued to live in Hephzibah after her marriage in 1964 and raised her three boys there. Her passion was cooking and was a chef at MCG, Augusta National, Cracker Barrel and Plant Vogtle. She went fishing every chance she got—she loved the thrill of the catch as well as a sense of solace and peace. Betty was high-spirited and fun-loving—she loved the old country music and dancing. Having a nurturing spirit, she took care of everybody and was lovingly known as “Mama” by everyone. Because of her love for children, she would feed, clothe and help in any way to ensure their well-being. She has been described as being a hard worker who provided well for her sons, and an honest, strong, brave woman who, because of her love for others, impacted and made a difference in people’s lives. Betty loved Jesus and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She now has a new, pain-free body in her eternal home in Heaven. Even though she is no longer here and missed beyond words, her love remains in the hearts of those of had the privilege of knowing her.
Those left to cherish her memories include her three sons, Archie Sanders Jr., Kenneth J. Sanders and Markus J. Sanders; five grandchildren, Tabby Watts, Jamie Lynn Sanders, Cody Watts, Brittny Marie Sanders and Elaine Rose Sanders; six siblings, Billy Hadden, Bobby Hadden, Ronnie Hadden (Michelle), Donny Hadden, Ann Winter (Rusty) and David Hadden; five (5) great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home after the services from 3:45 – 5:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, September 11, 2021.
