Barbara "Joan" Boulineau Sheppard

Barbara “Joan” Boulineau Sheppard, loving wife of the late Warren “Buck” Harold Sheppard, peacefully entered into her eternal rest Friday night, May 5, 2023 at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00PM Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2023 at Wrens United Methodist Church with the Reverend Chad Watkins officiating.

A lifelong resident of the Wrens/Stellaville area, Joan was one of three born to the late Clara “Mae” Perdue Boulineau and the late William “Jordan” Boulineau.  After graduating from Wrens High School, she married the love of her life in May 1950.  Being a homemaker, her family was her top priority and she made every effort to make their home a God-fearing, loving sanctuary.  A very artistic person, Joan was known for her woodburning abilities and for painting landscapes and florals. Most importantly, she was devoted to her Lord and Savior.  Having accepted God’s free gift of salvation through His son, Jesus, at an early age, Joan actively and faithfully served Him at Wrens United Methodist Church where for 30+ years she taught the Kindergarten/Preschool Sunday School class, and was a faithful partner in the Ladies’ Prayer Group.  The family is comforted in knowing that Joan has not only been reunited with her loved ones who have gone on before, but has seen her Savior face-to-face in her eternal home in Heaven.  

Joan is also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Sheppard. Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Harold Sheppard, Janet Dickson (Smith) and Sandra Adams (Marc); four grandchildren, Heidi Edwards (Mickey), John David Dickson (Michelle), Jenny Laminack (Joey) and Zane Adams; two siblings, Franklin Boulineau and Becky Harris; other extended family, church family and friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Silver Linings Personal Care Home for their loving, professional, and compassionate care over the last year.

Respectfully, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Wrens United Methodist Church, 202 Russell Street, Wrens, GA  30833.

The family will receive friends after the services conclude at Wrens United Methodist Church.
