Anne T. Clark

Wrens, GA  – Anne Townsend Clark, 78, loving wife of 58 years to the late John Thomas Clark, went to be with the Lord while at her residence Thursday, MAR 1, 2012.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, MAR 4, 2012 at the Ebenezer ARP Church with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Born to the late Alfred and Sarah Lizzie Hobbs Townsend in Townsend GA, Anne was brought to live with her grandparents, the late John and Eunice Burke Hobbs, and her uncles and aunts upon the death of her mother two months after her birth.  Having the gift of music, she played piano and served Ebenezer Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church all her adult life as its pianist.  The church buildings and grounds were her passion and she and John cared for them as best they could. Cooking for family and friends, along with a little fishing, were her greatest joy. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, her presence will be missed but her character will be a blessing not soon to be forgotten.
Anne’s survivors include her children, Jimmy F. Clark and Linda Clark Santarone (Drew) of Milledgeville; a brother, Stanley Townsend (Rose) of Debary FL; her granddaughter, Jennifer S. Spencer (Bryant) of Milledgeville; a soon-to-be great grandson, John Clark Spencer; and many cousins and friends.  Pallbearers will be Lamar Baxley, John Dukes, Randy Dukes, Billy Faglier, Bill McDaniel, Steve Pickard, Alan Wasden and Cecil Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Charles Poole, Ralph Burke, Tommie Burke and William Burke.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home prior to the services on Sunday, MAR 4, 2012, from 1:30-2:30P.M.
The family desires to have memorial contributions made to Ebenezer Cemetery Fund, c/o James F. Clark, 4215 Hobbs Rd, Wrens, GA 30833.
For their loving support during this sudden illness, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her church family, Dr. David Squires and Augusta Oncology.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul;  He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the  shadow of  death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will  dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
