Andrew Reese Purvis

Wrens, GA  –              Andrew “Andy” Reese Purvis, 69, loving husband of Diane Allin Purvis, entered into his eternal rest early Saturday morning, July 23, 2022 at his residence.  Services to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, July 27, 2022, in the James Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Faye Burgamy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Gardens.

The only child of the Susie Rooks Purvis and the late Weldon Purvis Jr., Andy was a lifelong resident of the Wrens area.  After graduating from Thomson High School, Andy attended and graduated from Augusta College with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting. He then started his work career as an accountant, working for businesses in various industries. In his younger years, he enjoyed helping his father on the family farm, as well as hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the simple things in life, one of which was sitting out on the porch with a cool breeze blowing as he enjoyed looking out at his wife’s flower garden. Among his many great qualities, Andy was a true family man who loved with his whole being.  His greatest joy and achievement were his family where he found much pleasure and happiness, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Andy’s big stature contained a big heart that loved greatly—he will be missed beyond measure.

Along with his wife and mother, those left to cherish his memories also include his sons, Darrin Fox (Sebrina) and Sean Fox (Eliegi); four grandchildren, Shelby Wagner (Jake), Drew Fox, Trevor Fox and Pedro Martins; two great-great grandchildren, Nora Wagner and August Wagner; and many friends.  Serving as pallbearers will be Darrin Fox, Sean Fox, Drew Fox, Trevor Fox, Randy Rhodes and Daniel Prickett.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 11:30AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
