Alivia Peters

Loving Tribute and Obituary as told by her parents:

Alivia Rayne joined our family on Dec. 14, 2020. We were overjoyed to have a daughter and a little sister to join our two boys. Alivia was the sunshine of all our lives. With two older brothers to follow around she was developing into quite the little tomboy. Alivia was mommy’s heart and sunshine.  She filled me with complete love when she came to my arms for hugs or comfort or understanding. She had her own tractor and baler, just like Daddy’s.  One favorite thing to do was to meet at the end of the driveway and ride home in the tractor with me.

Heights were no problem. The scarier the situation might look to us, the more it appealed to her. Open dresser drawers made steps.  Daddy tipped the chair when she was ascending the back, but she was never frightened he would drop her.  Camping was a highlight.  If she ever started getting tired, a boat ride with her sitting on our laps would relax her and put her right to sleep. Water play included lakes, pools, and puddles.  Alivia would steal the hose the boys were using to fill their “ponds” and hold it over her head.

Her brothers very much loved her. For a long time, Levi said “Awivia” was her second name, her first name was “Sister”. When Connor started school, she cried when he was dropped off. She knew how to insert herself into their play. The day before she passed, her brothers came up to the hospital for a few hours and they all went to the play area. She was frustrated she could not do everything they did, because of her medical attachments.

Sunday she seemed to be doing quite well. I (Daddy) went to go get something to eat. Alivia was sitting on Mommy’s lap, and she told me bye as I went out. Little did I realize that it would be for the last time. The next morning, her temperature spiked and she had a seizure. Shortly before this happened, I (Mommy) noticed that she was looking around the room’s ceiling with wonder and fascination. Then she fixed her eyes upward like she was looking beyond, seeing something I could not see.

Alivia was immediately taken to PICU where they discovered a bleed on her brain.  Despite the best efforts of the hospital staff, her condition worsened.  On September 12, 2022, Alivia left her loving family and friends, and climbed the Golden Stairway to Heaven.

Welcoming her to Heaven is her cousin Cole.  Left to remember Alivia Rayne are her parents, Raymond and Mendi Peters; two brothers, Connor Blair (6) and Levi Tate (4); grandparents Steve and Connie Peters, and Verle and  Denise Unruh; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Alivia will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday morning, September 17, 2022 at Pinecrest Mennonite Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Pinecrest Mennonite Church from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday evening, September 16, 2022.
