Wrens, GA – Aaron Jacob “A.J.” Moore, 21, loving son of Stacey Lynn Martin Moore and Kenneth Greg Moore, entered into his eternal peace Thursday night, May 9, 2019. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Chad Watkins officiating. Interment with follow in the Wrens Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Born in Wichita Falls TX, A. J. has lived in Wrens since the age of 3 when his father retired from the military. He attended Wrens Elementary, Wrens Middle School, was a 2015 honor graduate of Jefferson County High School, and attended Augusta University, majoring in computer science. A. J. loved gaming and was heavily involved in computers. Since the age of 15, he worked as a back-stage hand for Augusta Amusement which allowed him to enjoy free concerts as a perk of the job. This suited him well as he loved music—all music from classical to heavy metal. His favorite was big band music, especially the Glenn Miller Orchestra. A. J. was becoming a coffee junkie, or as he like to say “a coffee connoisseur”, experimenting with different types of coffee. He also liked to cook and “dabble” in creating his own recipes. Always willing to help others, A. J. was a loyal friend and generous with his time. A quiet person, he was very sweet, considerate, polite, respectful and loving. He has been described as "a gentle giant" and "a big teddy bear" who listed quietly and patiently, responding with a some wisdom or advice or silence, all of which was accompanied with "a soft smile and a gentle kind teddy bear hug!" A. J. was greatly loved greatly and will be forever in our hearts.
A.J. was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ralph Moore; his uncle, James Moore; and aunt, Teresa Ann Moore. Other survivors include his maternal grandparents, Joyce and Larry Martin; paternal grandmother, Clyde Moore; two uncles, Robert Martin and Hyland Moore (Connie); two first cousins, Courtney Moore and Blake Moore; best friend—his “adopted brother”, Tyler Copeland; extended family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Copeland, Boyce Mitchell, Allen Moore, Blake Moore, John Newsome, Jeff Partridge, Scott Phillips and Matt Snellgrove.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday evening, May 17, 2019.
