Kristen McKenzie Marsh
Wrens, GA – Kristen McKenzie Marsh, 36, loving daughter and mother, entered into her eternal rest Saturday morning, June 15, 2019, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 2019 with Dr. Leonard Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
The only child of Rhonda Williford Marsh and Phil Marsh, Kristen was a lifelong resident of Wrens, a 2001 graduate of Jefferson County High School and a graduate of Augusta State University. After graduating college, she worked as a Psychology Tech at Eisenhower Medical Center at Fort Gordon. She minored in criminal justice and always watched I.D. TV and other crime shows. Kristen enjoyed music of all genres and was always listening to music no matter what else was going on—it soothed her soul. Like her mom, she LOVED animals, especially dogs and cats, and gave any stray a home filled with love. Kristen also had a competitive streak when it came to activities with her cousins at family gatherings. Having a compassionate, tender heart, Kristen had a bright smile and was as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. Her greatest achievement was being a mother to her two beautiful children whom she loved unconditionally.
Kristen was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Nancy Newsome Marsh and W. E. Marsh; maternal grandparents, Joyce Holley Williford (“Nanny”) and Harry Williford (“Papa”). Other survivors include her two children, Brantley W. Marsh and Chloe M. Vogt; aunts and uncles, Jackson Marsh, Debra Williford, Wade Williford, Steve Williford (Rande) and Pat Homer; cousins, extended family, co-workers and friends. Pallbearers include Brad Blackmon, Barry Russell, and Steve Williford.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 1:30 – 3:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 2019 prior to funeral services.
